A spellbinding production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will bring magic, merriment and mysticism to London this Christmas at the Bridge Theatre.
The musical, which is supported by Bruno Wang Productions, will run for just 12 weeks, opening on November 18 and with the final performance on February 2.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is based on the novel of the same name by CS Lewis. It tells the story of how four children called Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter escape war-torn Britain through a magical wardrobe.
Their adventures take them to a strange world wrapped up in a perpetual winter that is never relieved by Christmas. Here, the four children encounter talking animals, an evil witch and Aslan, a magnificent lion. They find their courage and faith under test as never before.
This production was originally staged at Leeds Playhouse where it received rave reviews. The Times called it a “theatrical miracle” and The Observer described the show as a “full spectrum winter spectacle”. The Stage said it was simply “exhilarating.”
This version, which is directed by Sally Cookson, was created thanks to a collaboration between Catherine Schreiber, a two-time Tony and Oliver award-winning international producer, and Elliott & Harper Productions, producers of the multi award-winning production of Company, which recently completed its run at the Gielgud Theatre.
